Problem:

Why do I get the error: "Unspecified error occurred in license server proxy. Contact your Starteam administrator "?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: StarTeam

  • Product Component:Licensing
  • Platform/OS Version: N/A


If both master and backup license servers are down, Starteam client will display the following error upon login:

Exception handled at Unknown: Class = BLSProxyException, Code = 0(00000000) "Unspecified error occurred in license server proxy. Contact your Starteam administrator"

This is caused by connection issues between your StarTeam server and the Belise license server. To fix this you need to do the following:

  • Restart the master Belise license server
  • Ensure that you have connection to the master license server
  • Consider re-hosting your license and installing Belise on a second server to act as a backup and specify this when re-hosting the license file.

Re-hosting is available at the license site. If you contine to get these errors please contact Borland Technical Support.
