Answer/Solution:
This error is caused by incorrect hive ID as a result of moving the hive to a different machine/server. In order to resolve the issue, open the Hive-Index.xml file and change the HiveID to 10. If you try to checkout a file after restarting the server configuration, you should be able to do so with no error.
