Problem:

Is there anywhere that records what has been deleted during a purge?

Resolution:

Product Name: StarTeam
Product Version: All
Product Component: Server
Platform/OS Version: Windows

Description:

Is there anywhere that records what has been deleted during a purge?

Answer/Solution:

When performing a purge via the StarTeam Server Administration tool GUI, no purge log is generated, however the following database tables can be checked, to find what got purged.

  • Purged_archive
  • Purged_attachment_ids
  • Purged_attachment

The above tables do not contain timestamp"s to determine when an item was purged.

However if a purge is run from the command line, it is possible to pipe the results of the purge out to a text file.

For example:
Within the command line run:

C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Server 2005 R2>StarTeamPurge StarDraw >Purgelog.txt
(depends on the Server"s installation folder).

The resulting file will show details of the purge operation.
