Problem:

The CheckoutTraceDump utility does not process cotrc files.

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2006
  • Product Component: CheckoutTraceDump Utility
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows Server 2000

Description:

When running the CheckoutTraceDump utility, the command terminal simply skips to the next line as if nothing had happened. There is no program output and the cotrc files remain untouched.


Answer/Solution:

A workaround is to copy the CheckoutTraceUtility binary and OSSup.dll to another machine. The resolution is to make sure that the most recent .NET Runtime is installed on your machine. Go to "Windows Update" and get the .NET Runtime from Microsoft. After you install, the utility should work properly.
