What causes the StarTeam error: "The link could not be pinned. The specified pin version is prior to the linked version"?

  This is caused by attempting to pin a link to a revision of a file that has since branched. If for example the current revision of the file is 1.0.1 and you try to pin the link to 1.0 you will get this error. This will only occur if the link was created after the branching occurred.

  If you need to pin to an older pre-branch version of the file you will need to check the old version out and force it back into StarTeam making it the tip revision of the file before pinning the link to it. An enhancement has been made to Borland R&D to have this ability to pin links to any revision in a future version of StarTeam.
