Why do I get the error "StarTeam server error : General network error"?


Answer:

This error is caused by a loss of connection between the StarTeam Server and the Database Server machine. This could be due to the Database Server being unavailable for some reason or actually the result of a network problem. The StarTeam Server will attempt to re-establish the connection to the database after it using its pooled connections. To ensure that adequate resources are available for continuous database connections Borland advise you increase your connection pool this will ensure connectivity to the StarTeam database. To make this change follow the steps below:

1. Open the StarTeam Server Administration Tool
2. Go to Configure server option and select the database tab.
3. Increase the pooled connection entry to 50.
