Problem:

Why does the Endpoint (port number) value in the starteam-server-configs.xml get removed when the StarTeam Server is stopped?

Resolution:

When the StarTeam Server starts it reads the Endpoint value from the starteam-server-configs.xml file, for example,

‹OPTION name="Endpoint" value="49202"›

StarTeam stores the Endpoint for the configuration internally. When the StarTeam server is stopped the Endpoint value in the starteam-server-configs.xml file is removed, for example

‹OPTION name="Endpoint" value=""›

When the server  is restarted it will use the last Endpoint port number that it was started on.

If the server is started with the "Start with override" option and a new port number is entered, the Endpoint is added to the starteam-server-configs.xml file while the server is running. As soon as the server is stopped this value will be removed from the file but remembered internally and used for the next start of the server.
