Problem:

What causes the following error after upgrading to StarTeam 2008 R2 "Column names in each table must be unique. Column name "F4" in table "S30" is specified more than once"?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2008 R2
  • Product Component: Server
  • Platform/OS Version: All

This can be caused by conflicting licenses between the server versions. This indicates that you have your previous version correctly licensed, and have assigned "named" licenses to your users. If you then try to perform the upgrade the licenses previously assigned to users do not work with the new StarTeam 2008 R2 Server.

To avoid this issue, please remove any Named and Concurrent license references from each user (i.e. set to "Unassigned") in the Server Administration Console of your previous version and attempt the upgrade again. Once you have successfully upgraded & licensed StarTeam 2008 R2 you should re-assign the appropriate license to each user.
