Problem:

ASCII text files show up as binary files

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2005 , 2005 R2
  • Product Component: Server
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows

Description:
ASCII text files show up as binary files

Answer/Solution:
Once a file is created as Unicode or Binary and added to StarTeam, there is no way to have StarTeam recognize the file as ASCII even after manually change it and check-in the file back to StarTeam as an ASCII.

Please note that keyword expansion doesnt work on Binary files.
