Expansion on documentation for configuring StarTeam Datamart.

Details

Make sure the JDBC driver for Oracle or MS SQL is installed.

1. The Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC is available for download at:

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/downloads

For Oracle, JDBC Driver downloads are at:

http://otn.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html

2. Once the StarTeam Datamart has run and created the extracted database, run the database scripts typically found at:

C:Program FilesBorlandStarTeam DatamartReportsDBScripts

Use the scripts that are appropriate for the database type, MS SQL or Oracle.

3. To use the already created templates in the StarTeam Datamart Viewer, see Fig 1. (Example uses the *.rpt files for Crystal Reports v10)

Add the files to StarTeam in a folder called "Reports", See Fig 2.

Now the reports can be accessed though the StarTeam Datamart Viewer. After logging onto the StarTeam Datamart Viewer user can just double click on the report in the right hand window to access the report, see Fig 3.

4. Install the appropriate reporting software.
