Managing a Release

In Agile development, a product can be released to a customer after every iteration or after several iterations or sprints. StarTeam Agile uses the Release functionality to organize sprints. You must create a Release before you can start creating and planning for sprints. We have several tools that allow you to plan and track releases by tracking team velocity and release progress.

When you are planning for a release, the Target Release function allows you to add stories to target stories for a release during release planning. These stories will be part of the calculations for Release Tracking.

Release Tracking provides charts that allow you to track the progress of a release so you can make adjustments to meet your deadlines. This page includes a Release Progress chart, a Release Burnup chart, as well as a Release Breakdown list of all the stories targeted for the release and their current status.
