What causes the error, "java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError" when uninstalling the StarTeam Client?

While it is not necessary to uninstall older client versions, there may be times when uninstalling an older client is necessary.

If the above error occurs when uninstalling the first step should be to attempt to complete the uninstall in Windows Safe Mode. If this is unsuccessful, it will be necessary to manually remove the CPC, as follows

  1. Delete the StarTeam Client installation directory e.g. for the win32 version of the StarTeam 2005 Client, delete

    C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam 2005
  2. Run REGEDIT
  3. Delete the registry key


    [VERSION NUMBER] is the client version e.g. 7.0 for 2005, 10.0 for 2008
  4. Remove the program entry for the StarTeam client using the "Add/Remove Programs" option in the windows control panel. On Windows XP it will prompt you to remove the item from the list because the corresponding program is missing. For other Windows versions use any registry cleaner.
  5. While not necessary, you can also delete the folder

    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Borland\StarTeam
