Problem:

BCO"s -exclude option and multi-level paths

Resolution:

Description
How does the -exclude option work in BCO when excluding folders that have the same name but are located in different areas of the hierarchy?

Answer/Solution
When running the bco -exclude option, defining a single level path such as this:
/dlls
Will tell BCO to exclude all folders in the project"s folder hierarchy that have this name.

So, with a project structure like this:
/SourceCode/Prodution/dlls
/SourceCode/Bogus/dlls
/dlls
All of these would be excluded.

BCO cannot handle cases where, for example, only /SourceCode/Bogus/dlls needs to be excluded. Entering this full path will not exlude the folder in question.

With BCO if the folder hierarchy contains several folders of the same name, then multiple BCO commands would need to be scripted in order to pull items from all but the excluded folders.
