Problem

Some StarTeam 4.x windows GUI/Windows 2000 users have reported receiving anerror message: "Access is denied" when adding or checking in files.This has occurred for files that are in excess of one megabyte in size. Typically, the errormessage "Access is denied" indicates an OS level rights issue with thefile to be checked in. However, on Windows 2000 systems and StarTeam 4.xwindows GUI, this error could be due to the user using TCP/IP (RPC). In Windows 2000 releases, Microsoft made changes to the RPC protocol that has affected StarTeam and limits the size of filesthat can be checked in or added to one megabyte or smaller.

Workaround

Use TCP/IP (Sockets) to connect to the StarTeam server instead of TCP/IP(RPC).
