Problem:

Why do I get "The specified Object parameter was null" when opening StarTeam Cross-Platform Client or opening a View within the client?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: CPC
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows


There are several reasons why this issue can occur but this can usually be resolved by the following steps

Object Parameter was null
  1. Close the StarTeam Client
  2. Shut-down the StarTeam Toolbar (icon should be visible in the Windows system tray)
  3. Restart the StarTeam client
  4. Log in again

If this fails to resolve the error, repeat the above process but after step 2, restart the StarTeam Server configuration before opening the client once more.

If you continue to experience the problem after that please contact Borland Support.
