Problem:

When running a large checkout against a StarTeam server with an Oracle database, a timeout can occur and return the following error:

Internal StarTeam Server Error: ORA-03135: connection lost contact

Resolution:

The reason for this is that during a large checkout Oracle can sometimes timeout if it fails to get a response from the client. This will halt the operation.
 
To resolve this issue the following setting should be entered into the 'sqlora.net' file.

SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=10

This will change the timeout signal to 10 minutes which should be long enough for any operations between the StarTeam server and the database.
