How do I set up a project?


Although QATrackRecord helps you keep track of information related to your projects, it's up to you to decide how much information you want to track, and how you want to track that information.

In general, we recommend that you break down your projects into projects and functional areas specific enough to keep track of defects and features in your program on a section-by section basis. Break things down into enough parts that you'll be able to keep useful information about changes made to those parts, but not so many that they become difficult to work with.

To create a new project in item view:

  1. In the Types list, choose Project. Click New.
  2. Enter the appropriate information for the project.
  3. In the Functional Areas field, click Insert to bring up a list of existing functional areas.
  4. Select the functional areas you want, or click New Item to create a new one.
  5. Create an initial release.
