Problem:

What is the meaning of this server log entry "StarTeamMPX File Transmitter: Event has incomplete file properties"?

Resolution:

Product: StarTeam MPX
Version: 2005 R2
Components: MPX Cache Agent, MPX Message Broker
Platform: Windows

Question:

I am seeing the following entry in my server logs, what does it mean?

23500 00000002 2008-01-21 15:38:21 StarTeamMPX File Transmitter:
Event has incomplete file properties: Class 28, EventID = 17, Event Type = 1

Answer:

This log entry indicates that the server created a "file modified" event, but the event object is missing one or more of the properties that it should always have (e.g., object ID, MD5, or size).

When the file transmitter encounters such a "partial event", it reports it and skips it.

The log reporting will be improved in the future releases of StarTeam to address this.
