When running the StarTeam Test Director Synchronizer, why does the Synchronization freeze after connecting to the StarTeam Database?

This can occur if the TestDirector Open Test Architecture (OTA) APIs are not installed. No errors are reported in the mtdsync.log, it simply fails to report any additional information after connecting to the database.

The (OTA) API"s can be downloaded and installed automatically by browsing to the address of the Test Director Server that is specified in the BugSync.ini file. e.g. mtd_url1=http://localhost/qcbin

The (OTA) API"s are used to do all updates to the TestDirector database as well as reading some data. However, the Synchronizer still read most of the TestDirector data through direct database calls.
