Problem:

Why are the number of attachments to my CR reported incorrectly?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2005 R2
  • Product Component: Client (Win32/CPC)
  • Platform/OS Version: All

Question:

When I look at a CR the Attachment Count field shows an incorrect number compared to the actual attachments. If I try to query this count via an SDK I receive ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsExceptions. What is causing this?


Answer/Solution:

This behavior occurs when a user commits a new attachment to an item but the network connection between the client and the server is interrupted or disconnected before the commit has completed. To resolve this delete all attachments to this CR and click Apply then re-attach them.
