StarTeam server fails on start-up with error, "Exception handled at CStServer::Preload: Class = CDBException, Code = 4294967295(0xffffffff) Msg = Timeout expired"?
This connection timeout problem can be caused by excessively large SQL Server transaction log files.
If the SQL Server transaction log files grow too big , the StarTeam server will timeout when trying to connect to the StarTeam Database and therefore can result in a timeout on start-up.
To fix this problem please contact your DBA and ask them to run the backup log utility with the truncation option set to shrink the files to a manageable size. After this the StarTeam server run first time.
