Problem:

Why do I get the error "no Borland.StarTeam.FileAccess in java.library.path" in Borland Search Server?

Resolution:

• Product Name: Borland Search Server
• Product Version: version 3.0, build 21
• Product Component: Administrator Console: StarTeam : Manage Plug-ins : New Source
• Platform/OS Version: ALL

Question:

When trying to add a new server source in BSS why do I get the error "no Borland.StarTeam.FileAccess in java.library.path" as shown in the attached image?

Answer:

This would indicate missing entries in the PATH Environmental Variable. To resolve this error:

1. Right-Click My Computer
2. Choose Properties | Advanced | Environment Variables
3. Locate the PATH variable and click Edit
4. Make a copy of the current PATH and save it in Notepad
5. Append the following to the existing PATH entries "C:\Program Files\Borland\Borland Search\apache-tomcat-5.5.12\webapps\bss\bin\windows\dll"
6. Restart Borland Search Server using the Stop and Start scripts.
