Problem:

On a Windows Vista system with User Account Control enabled, launching the HELP from the StarTeam CPC fails.

Resolution:

This issue can be resolved in two ways:

Method One

Run "msconfig"
  • Select the Tools tab
  • Select Disable UAC
  • Click Launch

UAC has been disabled and HELP will launch successfully.


Method Two (UAC remains enabled)

  1. Locate the folder "C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2009\borland-help"
  2. Move to "C:\users\public\documents\borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2009\borland-help"
  3. Open and edit "C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2009\LaunchHelp.bat"
  4. Edit the first line to:

    cd "C:\users\public\documents\borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2009\borland-help"

The HELP will now launch successfully and User Account Control remains enabled.
