Is it possible to change how a StarTeam shortcut is displayed?
Yes, it is possible to change how a StarTeam shortcut is displayed by using the Display Template feature in the StarTeam Personal Options. Each StarTeam component (File, Change Request etc) has its own Display Template.
The Display Template specifies a special template used to generate an HTML representation of an item when the item???s URL is copied to the Clipboard. With no format, there is a default HTML representation that specifies the type of item and identifies it by the filename. Currently the default options for the Starteam components look like the following:
File: Beta 2 Cover Letter.doc
CR: Change Request #10
Requirement: Requirement #4
Task: Task #2
Topic: Topic #1
Folder: Beta Materials
When the text is generated from the template, the specified property values are substituted for the variables in ~~*~~. The variables may be referenced by the same names used in report templates, as well as by the display name of the property. When using the display name, you can omit spaces, and case will be ignored.
For example, if you use the following sample template for a file:~~FolderPath~~:~~Name~~
The HTML representation will be the StarTeam path to the selected file:
If you use the following sample template for a CR:CR #~~ChangeNumber~~: Entered By:~~EnteredBy~~ Status: ~~Status~~
The HTML representation will be:CR #14: Entered By: Mike Benson Status: Closed Fixed
