Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: View Compare Merge
  • Platform/OS Version: All Supported OS

Description:

When committing a VCM session, an error appears stating An error occurred while processing File "File Name" in folder \folder\path\ of the Source view. Unable to reverse share this item to the target folder "Folder Name". The attempted operation was not completed. One of the items is no longer available. It may have been deleted or moved by another user. Please perform a full refresh on the view and try the operation again.

This error happens after a the VCM session has been refreshed.

Answer/Solution:

The problem is usually caused by the folder behavior set in the CPC. The folder mentioned in the error is set to "Floating" when it needs to be set to a specific Time. To change the folder"s behavior, exit VCM, right click on the folder in question, then select Advanced -> Behavior... Select the Configuration tab and set the folder to a time. It should default to the current system time, which is the recommended setting. Save this, and retry the VCM session.
