Problem:

Incorrect permissions error given when checking files out to a working directory mapped via Samba

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2006 R2 and older
  • Product Component: Client
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows, Linux

Description:
When using StarTeam in Windows and having a working directory that is mapped to a Linux directory via Samba, user may get incorrect permissions error



Answer/Solution:
While this scenario works for most customers who use it, currently it has not been tested and is not supported by StarTeam. Please check your smb.conf file and make sure that everything is set up correctly.
