Adding an out-of-view folder throws error
Description:
When trying to add an out-of-view folder, an error is
thrown:Internal view error: Cached share information is missingThis
prevents a folder from being added in the folder tree at the
desired location. In most cases it is only one folder that is
affected.
Answer/Solution:
The problem that is causing this issue can vary, but most likely it
is because the folder"s parent folder was deleted sometime
recently. Maybe the folder was moved to be a sub-folder in another
location, and the previous parent folder was deleted. Regardless of
the root cause, a good workaround/fix is available.
1) Access the project/view and navigate to the folder in question.
2) Use Folder --> Properties to rename the folder to something different. A good idea is to just append "_old" onto the original name.
3) Create a new folder that is the same name as the original folder.
4) Move all the items from the old folder to the new folder. Make sure you move everything: files, CR"s tasks, etc.
5) Delete the old folder.
Perform these steps in this exact order and you will not lose any history, label attachments, links, etc. You will now be able to add out-of-view folders.
