Why do I get "HttpServletErrorHandler - java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException" from Borland Search Server?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: Borland Search Server, StarTeam
  • Product Version: 3.0.24
  • Product Component: Search Results
  • Platform/OS Version: All

Question:

On my results page when I click on the ?File Content: View? link why do I see the following error in the BorlandSeach.log logfile " ERROR HttpServletErrorHandler - java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException
at com.borland.starteam.impl._private_.vts.comm.BinaryCommand.readString(BinaryCommand.java:212)
at com.borland.starteam.impl.MyUserAccount.readGuts(MyUserAccount.java:239)"?

Answer:

This type of error can be the result of a mis-communication between the web-browser, and the web-server. On occasions, this can also be the result of a memory issue. Try rebooting the local machine, and also, if possible, the web-server. This should resolve any issue that was causing this error.
