Better solution for axes annotation (currently hard to read in graph reports

The new reporting engine is phantastic for the users. It was a big step forward ...BUT ...

In graph reports (and so in dashboards too) the annotation of axes is often unreadable. Special if you have longer text or dates. 

Very often this can´t be shortend (in the attached case it´s impossible) but it looks not professional and sometimes important information is gone.

This is the main reason why many projects in our group still use extrakt data and build graphs in Excel instead of using the great method of sharing dashboards.

Please give us an option to show the full annotation, so users can decide if the want to save space or read the whole text.
I would prefere not a scaling (because then the graph could be too small) but just using more vertical space to present the graph (directly or in dashboards).
This would help a lot.

Maybe you could add a possibility to present the annotation in an angle as you could to it in Excel too. This helps often to show the full text and save needed hight,

    We are doing some enhancement, but please be aware that we wanted to protect the view part as much as we can, since if the axe strings are too long, the view part will be very small or invisible. We are trying to reach the balance point.

    But please check with this option too if longer labels are reable.
    Specialy with date-periodes the lable is so long that it´s impossible to read (because its truncated).
    Would be a dream if we can have both options

    Showing X-axis labels in angle is already supported, see below:

    And your request for showing full X-axis labels is also added to our backlog.

    Hi Hannele. I have voted your idea too. Hope it will be solved soon because it´s hard to convince users using a method that will be not accepted by the receivers of the reports ...

  • Hi Nikola, we have also pointed this out to MF, see idea: (6) Category texts in the graphs are not fully visible. - ALM/QC Idea Exchange - ALM / Quality Center (microfocus.com)

    The reply we have received is a kind of 'works as defined level'. But like you described to look graphs from ALM UI is only one of the use cases of graphs, also other use cases (sharing, taking copy to clipboard, project reporst wih graphs included) should be supported.
