Change Windows service name to almqc

In Windows scripting and Command Line usage,
Windows service control is done by the "sc" or "net" command; for example.

  • net start "Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management"
  • sc stop "Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management" 

Currently, the entire service name must be typed, spaced, and quoted.

With the acquisition by OpenText, the service name will need to be updated in ALM 18.
Request that the service name be shortened to "almqc" to remove all that unncessary typing.
The Display Name and Description may remain expanded for branding purposes.

  • net start almqc
  • sc stop almqc
