Workflow Customization - FieldCanChange = False should revert changes

When a user tries to change a field value and in customization the FieldCanChange is evaluated to False, the system does not revert the changes to its original value in Text and Memo fields, as well as Rich Text.

The user now has to manually undo the change before being able to proceed. 

This is inconsistent with how this works for list type fields, where the change is automatically undone by ALM.

This happens in all modules.
