Problem:

I keep getting the error message 'Cannot connect to CaliberRM Server' when I try to connect to the CaliberRM Server.

Resolution:

There are many reasons for this error such as ports not being open on the CaliberRM Server or the CaliberRM Server machine being unreachable from your client machine or indeed the CaliberRM Server is perhaps not running. If however you have confirmed all of the above you may wish to also check the following. Browse to the following location on the CaliberRM Server machine:
 
C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Visibroker

Here delete the file called Borland.lic

Now restart the CaliberRM database using the following commands from a cmd prompt:

dbmgr -stop
Once it confirms the database has stopped type
dbmgr -start

This will regenerate the Borland.lic file. Try to connect to the CaliberRM Server now and if you still experience issues contact the support team explaining the steps you have already performed.
