Problem:

Where are the SQL Server connection details (e.g.Database username and password) stored in CaliberRDM Server and can these be changed?

Resolution:

Note that this applies to CaliberRDM 2010 GA release as SP 2 now has a configuration tool that allows you to check/change the database credentials.

In CaliberRDM 2010 GA the credentials for SQL Server are stored in the following location. We recommend making a back-up of this file prior to making any changes.
C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\CaliberRDM\webapps\caliberrdm\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF\persistence.xml

This is an editable xml file that can be opened in notepad.  You can edit the following information in the persistence.xml file:

The ConnectionURL is your database server name and port and also the database name.
The ConnectionUserName is the username for your database.
The ConnectionPassword is the password for your database.

If for example your database password changes in SQL Server you could specify the new password in the ConnectionPassword field and save the changes. A restart is required of the CaliberRDM Server before the change will take effect.
