Although Silk Test 16.0 Hotfix 2 supports Google Chrome 45, when you try to run tests with this version of Chrome, Silk Test displays the following error message:
"The used browser version is not supported, the latest supported version is Google Chrome 50."
To fix this issue, perform the following actions:
Restart the Open Agent with the -initialize and -clean arguments
Silk Test should now be able to replay tests with Chrome 45.
Alternatively, you can install Silk Test 16.0 Hotfix 3 to solve this issue. The hotfix is available for download from SupportLine.
I tried the above approach but still i am receiving the message and my code is not navigating to the URL. Please help me do i need to check for something else
Same here. The message is still displayed.
Make sure you have the check box "Allow access to file URLs" selected under Chrome > settings > Extension > Silk Test Chrome Extension.
Yes "Allow access to file URLs" check box is checked.
"Allow access to file URLs" checked. Still with the issue.
For ease of use we have also just relased ST 16.0 HF3. It's already available on the product updates page and should allow you to overcome the issue conveniently. For those of you who already have successfully applied the above procedure there's no need to download the hotfix, since it only contains the same changes.
You only need to check the "Allow access to file URLs" check box if you want to test web applications stored in your local file system.
Checking the "Allow access access to file URLs" checkbox in ST's extension configuration section is only necessary if the site or page you want to test is hosted on your local file system.
Sorry! The original post was not complete. I have added closing Google Chrome and stopping the Open Agent to the required actions.
The above solution worked for me :) but do we need to always start the Open Agent with the -initialize and -clean arguments via command prompt. when i tried to execute from Silk Central i cannot go the remote machine everytime to start the open agent manually.
you only have to restart the Open Agent once, after updating the plugin.xml file.
