Version 10.1.0 Control Panel error "The system cannot find the file specified"

Problem:

The application is deployed by including copies of the ACUCOBOL-GT directories rather than running the ACUCOBOL-GT installer.  With version 10.1.0, when deploying this way, the AcuServer, AcuConnect, and AcuToWeb Control Panels do not work.  When trying to add or start a new service there is an error "The system cannot find the file specified".

 Resolution:

Beginning in version 10.1.0 the three control panels depend on a registry entry to tell the service where to find the executable.  When deploying  a copy of the ACUCOBOL-GT installation directories you must ensure that the registry entry is added.  This will enable the Control Panels for AcuServer, AcuConnect, and AcuToWeb to function normally.

Here's what to do (assuming 64-bit OS):

1. Create the key:

For 32-bit products:

HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Micro Focus\ACUCOBOL-GT\10.1.0

For 64-bit products:

HKLM\Software\Micro Focus\ACUCOBOL-GT\10.1.0

2. Add a REG_SZ item named INSTALLDIR and set it to the path of the directory containing the AcuToWeb directory.  In a default 64-bit product installation that is:  C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\extend 10.1.0.

3. Add a REG_SZ item named PathName and give it the value of the path of the directory containing the bin directory where the ACUCOBOL-GT executables live.  In a default 64-bit product installation that is:  C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\extend 10.1.0\AcuGT.
