Printer setup Reflection Desktop for Unix & OpenVMS

So I was asked to try and assist on an issue that hasn't been resolved for a client. They are using an old version on the software, 16.1.125.0 and I noticed 9.0.1 in another area. As you can tell I know nothing about this system or Unix so I am truly hoping someone can help me out here.

They have a printer they can print to but locally when they get to their reports and enter LP: it does nothing. This was working fine till they upgraded to windows 10 a few years ago. The printer is installed as generic text only and prints fine from the OS and from the print utility within this program, just not the reports. So this leads me to believe that there is something wrong in Unix but I have no idea where to look to fix this.

    Nicholas,

The print utility within Reflection Desktop is mainly what the product has control over.  When you use Reflection to connect SSH or Telnet to a Unix session, you are virtually at that Unix system.  You mention using the "LP:" command on the Unix system, you need to have a printer setup on that local Unix system.  It would be best if you contact support so that we can troubleshoot.  We would likely need to capture a trace to see what the Unix application is doing after the user sends "LP:"

Thank you for responding! I did try and call support but this version is so old that they won't support it. I don't know anything about any of this software it isn't something I normally handle. If this makes sense when they go to print a report from within the program and at the end it ask for the output port that is where they would type the LP in and then it would print to the local printer. That function stopped after they upgraded to windows 10. Just have no idea where to go to make it work as it is all Unix and that just isn't something I have spent my time on over the years.
