how to display insert key status

I have a source that has a multi line input string. When the user types the characters and he forgets something, he comes back with the keyboard then press the INS key to add the characters desired. It's possible to report the activation of the INS key on the screen ??

This need because many time the user taps the button INS but doesn't remember to re-type the button to deactivate the function ( INS )
