GroupWise to PST - Just curious

All,
Has anyone used a tool or procedure to export/extract chunks of data or whole mailboxes, from GroupWise to PST for use in Outlook?
What tool(s) have you used?
I am really keen to know, how does the GroupWise mailbox size translate to the size of a PST file? is it roughly the same, or does a 1GB GroupWise mailbox end up FAR LARGER as a PST?

We may be moving from GroupWise, after 15 years, but it's a little way off yet, and I'm starting the ball rolling on considering the obstacles and challenges.

Thanks in advance, Alan

I haven't used such, but there are many out there when you google for
    "groupwise to PST"
The caveates to PST is that this is an unmanaged data set unlike date
within GroupWise or Exchange, so use carefully.

I believe they will grow as GroupWise has native compression where as I
can't find anything about the contents of PST being compressed
(compacting is something else, its about clearing out unused space from
    deleted messages)
So I would imagine PSTs would be least about 50% larger, possibly more if
there is lots of highly compressible data (text, old doc or xls files,
    old PDFs, ect...)

Managing PST, a whole other kettle of fish that is worth learning about
in bits before having to face it fully so that you can set the habits and
    policies up front.

I assume you are talking about the size of a user's online mailbox on a
    GroupWise server?

A .PST file is used by the Outlook Client. An Exchange server doesn't
use .PST files so you are comparing apples to oranges.

GroupWise maintains only a single copy of an attachment that may be
sent to multiple users and I'm not sure if it contributes to the size
    of each user's mailbox.

If each user's online GroupWise mailbox is saved to a .PST file, the
combined size of all user's .PST files could be significantly larger
than the combined size of their online GroupWise mailboxes, especially
if there are many attachments involved as the attachment would form a
part of *each* recipient's .PST file.
