High CPU Utilization

Running GW2014 sp1 webaccess on a vm by itself, after a few days of boot java goes to $199% CPU and while it doesn't seem slow from a user point of view if I leave it that way long enough webaccess will go unresponsive. Restarting tomcat will resolve it for a couple days.

VM is configured with 2 cpu's and 4 GB ram.

I have not reserved any memory for the vm.

Any input is appreciated.

  • Hi,

    I have on average 200 users on my Webaccess VM and I have a similar problem in that Tomcat6 become non-responsive.
    I allocated 6G of RAM to the VM and then in /etc/sysconfig I edited the file "tomcat6" and inserted a line
    "CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms4096M - Xmx4096M" Then restart of Tomcat6 with "rctomcat6 restart"
    This will allocate 4G of ram to Java heap size and the performance will be better.

    Having done all of the above, I still find that I need to restart Tomcat6 every week ......

    Give it a try.
    Regards
    John
  • There are known issues with memory leaks in WebAccess. You should open an SR.
