To-Adress in Sended-Folder

hello everyone,

we are using GW18.0.2

One of my users complains that only the name of the external recipient
appears in the sended folder as recipient and not additional the mail
address in angle brackets. Example: there is only Mickey Mouse and not
Mickey Mouse <mm@duck.com>.
She swears it worked that way with an older client.
Could it be that there was a change or is it a setting thing?

Thank you very much for an answer

    Ullrich,
I don't have an official answer, but my understanding is that it
depends on how it was sent. Looking at the v14 client, I see some
emails with "name <email>" and some with just "name". Checking the
properties or message source tabs shows me that what is displayed
matches the "From:" line. I have installed the 18 client and I don't
recall it being any different from that.

  • Hi Ken,

    thanks for your answer.

I see the <mailadress> in the incoming folder. Answering such a mail
shows the bracket still in the creation mode of the client. But after
sending it, in the outgoing folder there is only the name left, no
<mailadress>. So cause I see the bracket content in the incoming mail
    generally it is there.

    Regards

    Ullrich

Looking at an instance of a GroupWise 2012 client, I see both.
In the 'Sent Items' I see both just the <mm@duck.com> and just the Mickey
Mouse, where as in the Mailbox, it is either <mm@duck.com> or Mickey
Mouse <mm@duck.com> depending on whether the name was there or not in the
    original message.
What I would suggest is to setup an older GW client somewhere on your
system and have her log in to compare with her mailbox on the GW18
    client.
Having the GW icon target properties with " /@U-?" added to it, will
make it easier to do such tests.
