Complex Search

I have received a rather complex public record request, for a large number
of users on my network. I can build the search myself, and I am going to
let everybody search their own email. Is there a way, they can import my
search criteria into their client? Or do they have to manually input the
search for each account?

  • Hi,

    I do not know of a way in which you can save your search settings. I've just double-checked my GW 8 system.

    Cheers,

    This VBScript may help. It creates a search folder under cabinet. Change the constants SearchCriteria and FolderName to suit your requirements and save with a .vbs extension.

    option explicit

    'define constants

    const SearchCriteria = "(SUBJECT CONTAINS Backup AND FROM CONTAINS Joe)"
    const FolderName = "Test"

    'define variables

    dim GWApplication
    dim GWAccount
    dim GWQuery

    'Connect to GroupWise

    set GWApplication = CreateObject("NovellGroupwareSession")
    set GWAccount = GWApplication.Login()

    'create query

    set GWQuery = GWAccount.CreateQuery
    GwQuery.Locations.Add ( GWAccount )
    GWQuery.Expression = SearchCriteria
    GWQuery.SearchLocally = False

    'save as search folder under Cabinet

    wscript.echo "Creating query folder "
