Confirm My Understanding of Datasync(s) setup with GW2012

Hello All

We have 3 Domains that house a Post Office each (about 800 users each)
All the GW2012 systems are in the same physical office
We have lots of bandwidth between remote offices (100MB minimum)
Our Ineternet is 100MB

PO1 - 800 /- Users
PO2 - 800 /- Users
PO3 - 800 /- Users

I am thinking of setting up the following to handle about 1500 devices

Setup 2 NEW Domains
Setup 1 NEW Post Office in each domain

PO4 - No Users
PO5 - No Users

NO Users will have a mailbox in these Post Offices. They will stay in
their existing post office (PO1, PO2, PO3)

The only purpose of the NEW Post Offices is to handle the datasync SOAP
requests

setup 2 mobile datasync servers

mobile1.company.com
mobile2.company.com

Have them setup to access both of the NEW Post Offices above (PO4
  • I reject your reality and substitute my own. :-) Data Sync talks directly to the owning POA via SOAP. IMO, all of this "design" you outline is entirely unnecessary.

Echoing Bob, DataSync will talk directly to the PO holding the user account that's getting synced.

With that number of users, I'd probably go for two or three Mobility servers that are each "linked" to users via a eDirectory group (one group per GW Mobility server so to say). Having a GW Mobility server per PO might be the easier way to organize it.

I'm also curious to know, are you considering this due to current performance problems? And ifso, where are you specifically seeing issues?

    Cheers,
