ISSUE with upgraded to Netware GWIA (6.5.7 to 8.0.2) this pastweekend ...

The GWIA logs, before the update, showed the Senders as Mailbox@DomainName.

After I upgraded my GWIA to v802 I noticed the GWIA logs showing PostOffice.MailboxID@DomainName.

Why would it put PostOffice in front ?

  • * David,

what's the issue exactly? Apart from stuff being different in the logs?

  • Thanks for taking the time to get back to em Uwe ... much appreciated.

The mail is being sent to a "governing" gov. organization and then gets pushed on from there. They're rejecting it because its' not resolving to the sender I mentioned in the original post, Mailbox@DomainName.

I don't understand why the upgraded GWIA is adding the PostOffice name in front of Mailbox@DomainName ?

  • David,

so it isn't only in the logs, also the mail addresses in the mails get changed?
Double check your internet addressing settings, maybe the upgrade has changed stuff there. One indicator may be a changed mail address property on the eddir user object. If that's the case, repair the internet addressing and synchronize all users.
