Solving a GroupWise 7.0.3 Patch Update Problem

Problem



After I installed GroupWise 7.0.3, one of my users got the following error:


7111...failed (8503)



The error happened when the user was trying to remotely connect a 7.0.1 client to update 7.0.3 Groupwise agents. It was working perfectly before the update.

Solution



It turns out that the patch install wrote over my existing MTA startup. I had to re-enable Live Remote by putting the following switches back
in the MTA:


/LIVEREMOTE-
/LRCONN-<# of connections to allow>



Now it works fine.
