Recover deleted files in Oes 11 NSS

What options do you have to recover accidentally deleted files in Oes 11 NSS? Salvage did not work. With google you can find many different tools, e.g. Stellar Phoenix Novell Data Recovery (NSS), but does anybody have any real experience on how to do that or what are best available tools? NSS disk is ok and there's nothing broken there, just accidental delete without backup.

In my experience, files that can't be salvaged by NSS are irrecoverable
    through other means too.

Others have already given reasons why slavage might not have worked, one
more is if the file (or rather file version) you're missing may not have
been deleted, but instead been overwritten, aka modified.

At any rate, most of theese reasons given result in the file most likely
being truly overwritten. I'd only attempt third party recovery, if
salvage was truly disabled on your volume, it has plenty of free space,
and the deletion wasn't too long ago. And then, what Bob said applies.
