Client showing wrong free space size for removable storage

I have a Netware share mounted at /back under /back I mount removable drives for backup purposes. I just ran into an issue trying to copy 720gig to /back/backup5a that has over 2tb of free space. Windows is reporting that there is only 681gig of free space. That would be true if I was copying to /back which does only have 681gig but not for /back/backup5a. Is there some way around this issue that doesn't involve making separate shares for each removable storage device?

In a word: No. Windows has no concept to consider free space in
subdirectories differently than at the root of a drive, *unless* itself
has mounted some other device into a subdirectory.
