ZCM 11.2.3 causing Win 7 64 slow login

We have Dell 64 Windows 7 systems that has Novell 64bit client and Zen 64bit version 11.2.3 and the welcome screen stays for 6 to 10 minutes for the first time a user logins in. the second time is a 1 to 2 minutes to login.

Thanks
  • This likely due to stuff the ZCM agent is doing at boot.
Stuff such as missing AV policies or certain bundles may be the issue.

Look in the ..\zenworks\cache\zmd folder for .APPSTATE files

How many are there in this folder with a Current Date?
What size are the largest .APPSTATE files?

  • There are 40 with the current date and time and there are five files with the size of 124 KB to 304KB and the average size of the remaining are 30KB. What are these files and what do they tell me??
  • ..APPSTATE files are the XML representation of the details of the bundle
itself as well as it's current state (installed or not/by whom/when/etc..)

If an Bundle has an current effective assignment to the user or the
device, it will be examined during the refresh and the date/time of the
    Appstate file will be updated.

The larger the size of the XML/Appstate file the more things the bundle
    needs to examine.

None of these files are large enough to be a major concern and tell me
in general some details about the bundles that I could have learned from
    queries.

    Next........
Do about 3 reboots and test logon times, make sure to logon about as
soon as it will let you.

Then remove AV (dont just disable) and repeat the tests.
What were the times w/ and w/o AV?

    Also.............
Can you please check to see if any of those bundles have an HKCU System
Requirements. I know in the past, this sometimes caused delays.....
