Can't prompt for Alternate Email in SSPR 4.5

Prior to upgrading to SSPR 4.5 we were able to prompt user to enter an Alternate Email if their Alternate Email was blank.  This was optional, so they could cancel out of the prompt.  I do not see that option in 4.5, I only see a Required option and that forces our users to enter an Alternate Email.  Has anyone found a way around this in 4.5?
