smartconnectors or flexconnector

Hello All,

An Arcsight newbie here.. preparing for my certification. I have access to ESM Console and logger.

1) I would like to get a list of all connectors(smart + flex) on my ESM / logger. Please suggest me how to achieve this.

2) from ESM Console / logger, when i see a connector, how can i identify if its a smartconnector or flexconnector.

Hello Sekar Sundaram , You can simply log to ArcSight Console using the "Administrator" account then go to the "Resources" tab then "Connectors" you will see a list of all the connectors (Flex & Smart…

Hello Sekar Sundaram, You can simply log to ArcSight Console using the "Administrator" account then go to the "Resources" tab then "Connectors" you will see a list of all the connectors (Flex & Smart) all are located under "All COnnectors" tab.

In reference to the connector type, Go to any connector, Right Click, Send Command, Get Status

A command will be pushed to the ArcSight connector and retrieve connector details i.e connector type and version, all these details exist in ArcSight Console guide

Sekar Sundaram , tbh... Flex-Connector and SmartConnector is the same binary... so (ArcSight officiels might see it differently) there is not much difference in these two.

the "only" difference, is that "flex" is a parser (etc) written by you/the customer, and Smart is a parser (etc.) provided to you from ArcSight.

do you have an ArcMc deployed into your environment or only the ESM / Logger?
