This article details a workaround to identify and terminate zombie processes that are causing some Logger services to be on an "Execution Failed" status
7.x Software Logger.
Some Logger processes are in a "Execution Failed" status.
Multiple reasons for this behavior. One common one is when executing the below commands almost immediately one after the other:
<Logger_Install_Path>/current/arcsight/logger/bin/loggerd stop all <Logger_Install_Path>/logger/current/arcsight/logger/bin/loggerd start all
Doing the above, may cause some processes to not be terminated correctly and may be still around as "zombie" processes which are still binded to ports that are needed by Logger.
